Faces of Figtree: Di from Prouds

Welcome to our first installment of the Faces of Figtree.  Each week we will get to know a different personality from one of your favourite Figtree Grove retailers.  We’ll chat with them and get a glimpse inside their business, why they do what they do and what they love about being part of the Figtree Grove “family”.

Today, we chat with Di Couldrey, the store manager at Prouds Jewellers.

Tell us about your journey as a part of Prouds Jewellers.

I have been working here at Prouds Figtree for 24 years.My team is made up of experienced staff who love to be involved in local centre and community activities.

What products or services do you offer?

We offer a jewellery care plan for items valued over $200, which shows a commitment to our product and customer service.Here at Prouds we also have a variety of interest free finance options so you can enjoy that special piece of jewellery sooner, including Humm, Afterpay & Latitude Finance.

What’s a customer favourite?

Our great range of Citizen and Seiko watches are very popular with customers.The friendly service we offer and extensive range available in store is also another customer favourite.

What do you do/sell that customers may not know about?

We sell a wide range of wedding bands to suit any bride or groom, which some customers do not know about.If you are unsure if we have a particular type of jewellery available, just ask as chances are, we have it in store.

Prouds also offers jewellery and watch repairs, which is something else shoppers may not know about.

What has been a highlight for your store at Figtree Grove?

The entire team have loved dressing up in character for special events such as Halloween and getting in the spirit with our neighbouring retailers.

Tell us about your team.

My team have combined experience of 61 years in the business.We focus on customer service and product training to ensure customers are satisfied and they continue to visit us in store year after year.

What’s the key to success in retail?

I think it is important to get to know your customer, as well as following the selling steps.You aren’t able to offer the customer the products and services they are seeking until you get to know a little bit about them and their expectations.

When you’re not in the store, where might be find you, or what might you be doing in your down time?

When I am not leading the team here at Prouds Jewellers Figtree, you could find me practicing and expanding my knowledge of the French language and travelling.
